Your finger compass
The ridges on F and J mark where your index fingers belong. From those two anchors, the rest of the keyboard has a predictable direction.
Slide both index fingers until each finds a ridge. No peeking needed.
Let your other fingers rest across A–S–D and K–L–; on the home row.
Reach for another key, then use the bumps to come home again.
A short home-row run helps F and J become anchors your hands can find automatically.
One very wide key
Nearly every word needs a gap after it. A wide key gives either thumb a generous target without pulling your fingers away from the letters.
Your thumbs rest below the letters, so a long target works from many hand positions.
Spaces separate words, making this one of the most repeated motions in ordinary typing.
Typewriters already used a bar to advance the carriage without printing a mark.

Keys with old jobs
Return and Shift once moved real machinery. Computers kept the familiar names, then evolved Shift Lock into Caps Lock.

You can focus on meaning because key-finding no longer needs every thought.

A switch turns downward motion into an electrical signal. Its shape and moving parts decide whether the press feels smooth, bumpy, or clicky.

A layout can reduce finger travel, preserve familiar shortcuts, balance the hands, or fit a language. Improving one goal may make another harder.
Now keep common pairs comfortable, share work across both hands, and leave room for shortcuts.

Start with many dots. Give them distance, waves, and time. Your eyes connect the moving pattern into wind, crystals, or even a floating creature.
These are friendly building blocks, not copied source code.
Pattern recipe
The rule is short, but the dots do not all begin in the same place. That is why the shared rhythm can look rich instead of repetitive.
