Privacy notice

Short version: Keyboard Runner does not use ads, behavioral advertising, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking. Product analytics are coarse, first-party, and optional. We do not send names, typed text, account IDs, or player-profile IDs to analytics.

What the game handles

• Local gameplay data: progress, settings, earned items, and the analytics preference are stored in the browser on this device.
• Optional family account: a parent or guardian may sign in and create player profiles. A profile requires a nickname; please do not use a child’s full name, email address, or other identifying information.
• Optional cloud save: if a parent turns it on, the nickname and gameplay progress are stored so the selected profile can continue on another device.
• Parent login: our login provider processes the parent’s login information. The game API uses the resulting account identifier to provide the account and cloud-save features.

The words a player types during gameplay are used to run the game. They are not included in product analytics.

Privacy-minimized product analytics

When “Share anonymous product usage” is on, the game may send allowlisted events such as app loaded, mode selected, run started or finished, shop opened, a premium prompt viewed, and a coarse error category. Allowed details are limited to fixed categories such as game mode, broad world range, broad device class, viewport size, outcome, and reduced-motion setting.

The analytics dataset does not contain names, email addresses, typed text, account or profile identifiers, advertising identifiers, full URLs, precise location, or an IP-address field. Cloudflare necessarily processes network information such as an IP address to deliver and secure the request, but Keyboard Runner does not write that address into its product-analytics dataset.

Analytics are used only to understand product reliability and which game features need improvement. Analytics records are retained for up to 90 days. A browser Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal turns this analytics collection off. A parent can also turn it off from Family account → Privacy.

No advertising or data sale

Keyboard Runner currently has no ads, behavioral advertising, ad SDKs, tracking pixels, data brokers, or cross-site profiling. We do not sell personal information. We will update this notice and re-evaluate child-privacy requirements before introducing materially different tracking or advertising.

Service providers

Cloudflare provides hosting, security, database, and analytics infrastructure. Clerk provides optional parent authentication. These providers process data to deliver their services under their own contractual and security obligations; they are not authorized by Keyboard Runner to build advertising profiles from game activity.

Payments are currently disabled

If live checkout is later enabled, Stripe will process the parent purchaser’s payment and related billing details. Keyboard Runner will retain the parent-account link, internal and Stripe order identifiers, item, amount, currency, status, refund or dispute state, timestamps, and the accepted terms version. Card numbers and security codes will be entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout and will not be stored in the Keyboard Runner database. No child profile nickname, gameplay text, or cloud-save contents will be sent with the order.

Retention and parent choices

Local data remains until browser storage is cleared. A signed-in parent can delete a player profile from the Family account screen; deleting it removes that profile and its cloud save from the game database. Product analytics expire after up to 90 days. Authentication records are handled under the login provider’s retention practices.

Children and families

The game is designed for family use. Children should use the game with a parent or guardian’s involvement. We intentionally minimize collection and do not ask a child for an email address, birth date, address, school, phone number, photo, or precise location. If we learn that information was submitted contrary to these instructions, a parent may ask us to review or delete it.
